Our Programs
Preschool
________________
Our K3 and K4 program cultivates Christian virtue through appealing to children’s natural curiosity and incorporating as many of their senses as possible in the learning process.
Our teachers place beautiful Scripture, Christian creeds, stories, art, rhymes, songs, and jingles in the hearts and minds of their preschoolers, forming in them an increasingly greater affection for God’s truth and goodness.
The daily liturgies of attending opening and closing worship assemblies, Bible time, recitation of the seven Christian virtues, and prayer enable spiritual formation, building spiritual habits in the child from a young age. The study of the calendar, alphabet, and numbers, as well as the practice of fine motor and gross motor skills, form the child academically so they are prepared for kindergarten. With this foundational classical Christian educational experience, our preschool students have priority in our kindergarten enrollment to continue their discipleship in Christian virtue.
Traditional Program
________________
Our Traditional Program is designed for families who value the consistency, accountability, and fellowship of a five-day classroom experience.
Traditional students attend academic classes Monday through Thursday and spend time in embodied formation on Forma Fridays, engaging in things like gardening, etiquette, gymnasium, and manual arts. Students attend school each day under the guidance of quality classical educators who lead them through a rigorous and joyful curriculum. Daily interaction with teachers and peers allows students to receive immediate feedback, engage in meaningful discussions, and form lasting relationships within a vibrant academic community.
This program offers a consistent rhythm that supports character formation, study habits, and a deep sense of belonging. It offers many families the structure and support needed to thrive.
Cottage Program
________________
Our Cottage Program offers a university-model hybrid experience, blending formal instruction in the classroom with independent learning.
Students attend class on Mondays and Wednesdays, and complete school-directed academic work off-campus on the other days of the week. Cottage students are fully integrated into the life of the school and are welcome to participate in the Forma Friday Program, field trips, and schoolwide events.
On days when Cottage students are not on campus, they are expected to complete 5-7 hours of academic work, guided by lesson plans and assigned by the classroom teacher(s). Parents serve as co-teachers in the early years and transition into mentors as students gain independence and mastery in the upper grades.
The Cottage School combines the best parts of a traditional homeschooling experience with that of a classical private school education.
Dual Enrollment
________________
Dual enrollment gives a high school junior or senior a jump starts on a college education.
Our Dual enrollment program allows students to complete college credits while simultaneously earning a high school diploma. Smith Preparatory Academy partners with Palm Beach Atlantic University offering multiple courses taught by our Smith Prep faculty. The classes include Composition I & II, Bible, and Psychology. All Smith Prep seniors are eligible for these dual enrollment classes.
Upon approval, Smith Prep students may also take dual enrollment classes at their community college that do not conflict with other Smith Preparatory Academy classes or schedule.
