In The Pilgrim’s Progress, John Bunyan’s Celestial City represents the Christian’s final destination—Heaven itself, the place of eternal communion with God, joy unspeakable, and the fulfillment of the soul’s deepest longings. At Smith Preparatory Academy, we seek to form students whose eyes are fixed on that City—who are even now being shaped by the present reality of God’s kingdom. They are not merely gaining knowledge for its own sake but cultivating wisdom and virtue, seeking to establish God’s kingdom locally and throughout the world.
Like all independent schools, Smith Prep depends on the generosity of our community to support essential needs not fully covered by tuition—needs that help us lead students along the narrow way toward truth, goodness, and beauty. The Celestial City Fund, managed by the Smith Prep Education Foundation (SPEF), exists to sustain this mission.
Your Tax-Deductible Donation Fuels:
- Tuition assistance and scholarships for families in need
- Curriculum and classical resources rooted in the Western tradition and Scripture
- Faculty development, training, and spiritual formation
- Facility maintenance and improvement
- Enrichment programs that shape the whole student
In order to make our Christian classical education accessible to more families, we must raise $100,000 for annual scholarships this year.
100% Family Participation
We believe in a shared mission. Every gift—no matter the amount—is a testimony to your belief in the eternal value of a classical Christian education. We encourage 100% participation from current families, and invite alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school to join us in this pilgrimage of generosity. Together, we are guiding young souls toward the Celestial City.

The Smith Prep Education Foundation (SPEF) is a 501(c)(3). All donations are tax deductible. Unless designated for a specific area (such as scholarships), gifts are considered unrestricted, allowing us to direct resources to the most immediate and vital needs of the school.

Why “Celestial City”?
The Celestial City is more than a destination—it is a vision of the Christian life lived faithfully, joyfully, and with eternity in view. At Smith Prep, we are forming students who not only read The Pilgrim’s Progress, but live it. Our faculty is committed to raising up a generation of virtuous scholars with rightly ordered loves. We gladly teach students to delight in truth, pursue virtue, and walk the narrow road with courage.
As Bunyan’s Christian pressed forward through trial and temptation with eyes fixed on the City of God, so too do our students journey daily toward the fullness of Christ’s kingdom. Your gift to the Celestial City Fund makes that journey possible for every Smith Prep student.
